Dr. Noel Warford

I am currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Oberlin College, and I am on the job market! At the University of Maryland, I was advised by Michelle Mazurek. My research interests focus on the intersection of computer security and at-risk users - people who, due to context or circumstance, experience elevated digital-safety risks and harms. I use both qualitative and quantitative methods in my research, including interview design, reflexive thematic analysis, and survey design with appropriate statistical analysis. I have been lead instructor for both core and upper-level courses, including designing multiple new 300-level courses on human-computer interaction, cybersecurity, and natural language processing.
